High rise buildings, bridges, dams and subgrade need to measure the compaction density of soil. The common measurement methods of soil compaction density are portable nuclear densitometer, sand rotation method and density drive cylinder. Nuclear densitometer can measure soil moisture, dry and wet density at the same time. However, the use of radioisotopes in the nuclear densitometer is potentially harmful to users. It is also a potential unsafe factor, which is not conducive to counter-terrorism.

Sand rotation method is interfered by human factors. The field coring needs to be measured in the laboratory, and the compaction density measurement results can be obtained at least 24 hours later.
